Integral Reaffirms Commitment to the Core Humanitarian Standard

Integral is pleased to reaffirm our commitment to the updated Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) by adding our name to the list of signatories. The globally-recognised Standard sets out nine commitments to ensure that organisations support people and communities affected by crisis and vulnerability in ways that respect their rights and dignity.

Since 2019, Integral has endorsed the CHS and is committed to working towards them as our Quality Standards in all our joint work responding to disaster-affected communities. We have now mapped our recently revised Localisation Commitments onto the updated Standards and fully support its’ recognition of the leading role of communities in finding local solutions, and the way it aims to be simpler and more inclusive.

Fiona Boshoff, CEO of Integral, says, “The updated CHS is consistent with our values as an Alliance and our commitment to maintain high quality in our work. We are pleased to reaffirm our commitment to CHS as a standard that promotes equitable, inclusive and collaborative relations between people and communities and those working to support them. We believe that accountability is central to alleviating human suffering, restoring dignity, and ensuring timely, relevant and effective aid.”
