Integral Publishes Updated Storyteller’s Guide

Integral has published a second edition of their Storyteller’s Guide. The Guide is the work of the Integral Dignity in Humanitarian Communications Working Group who share learning and best practice in humanitarian storytelling. The aim of the Guide is to help those involved in humanitarian communications tell the stories of the people and communities they work with accurately and honestly, and with dignity and respect.

This revision is the result of the Working Group carefully reviewing the original content and the feedback about the first edition.

Helen Manson, the Creative and Communications Lead at Tearfund New Zealand and the Chair of the Working Group, says, “It was always our intention that our Guide be a ‘living document’ to ensure it continues to reflect best practice in our fast-moving sector. We also wanted to refresh its look and make it even more focussed on providing practical help to communication professionals both inside and outside of Integral alliance membership. We hope that the updated edition will continue to be a useful resource to use with all those who gather communications for you. It is our plan this year to offer training events based on our Guide, so watch this space!”

Fiona Boshoff, Integral’s CEO adds, “The Storyteller’s Guide is such a great demonstration of our Members’ collaborating to do more and better together than apart! I’d like to congratulate all those involved in producing such a practical resource. I’m so looking forward to the upcoming training events which go alongside it, and seeing it being used by anyone in the humanitarian communications field.”
